UPS Pay Schedule: When UPS Pays, Paydays & Direct Deposit

Money finance and savings concept

One of the first things new UPS employees want to know is when do I get paid? This guide explains the UPS pay schedule — weekly vs. biweekly, the pay period, when paydays land, and how to set up direct deposit and manage your pay through the UPSers portal.

This is an independent guide. Your exact schedule depends on your role, union status and location — confirm with your manager, HR or the official upsers.com. We are not affiliated with UPS.

Does UPS pay weekly or biweekly?

For most hourly, Teamster-covered employees — package handlers, drivers and warehouse staff — UPS pays weekly. Salaried and some management employees may instead be paid biweekly (every two weeks). If you’re unsure which applies to you, your offer letter, first pay stub or HR can confirm it.

UPS pay period and payday

  • Pay period: the weekly cycle generally runs Sunday through Saturday.
  • Payday: typically Thursday or Friday, depending on your hub or district.
  • Direct deposit: funds are usually available Friday morning (often before 10:00 a.m.), though timing can vary slightly by bank.

Because the exact payday can differ by location, check with coworkers at your hub or ask your supervisor for the local schedule.

Setting up direct deposit

Direct deposit is the fastest, most reliable way to get paid. You can usually enroll or update your bank details through the UPSers portal:

  • Sign in to upsers.com and open the payroll / direct deposit section.
  • Add your bank’s routing number and account number (have a check or bank app handy).
  • Save and confirm — the first cycle may still arrive as a paper check while the bank verifies your account.

Until direct deposit is active, you’ll typically receive a paper paycheck on payday.

Viewing your paycheck and pay stub

You can view and print your earnings statements online — see our step-by-step UPSers pay stub guide. Each stub shows your gross pay, hours, overtime, deductions and net pay. For year-end taxes, your W-2 is also available on UPSers.

Changing your tax withholding (W-4)

If too much or too little tax is being withheld, you can update your federal W-4 (and state withholding) and personal details such as your address through UPSers. Adjusting your W-4 changes how much income tax comes out of each check — useful after a major life event like marriage or a new dependent.

A note on pay rates

Hourly rates for union roles are set by the Teamsters collective bargaining agreement. Under the 2023 national contract, starting pay for part-time package handlers rose to around $21 per hour, with scheduled increases over the life of the contract. Your actual rate depends on your role, seniority and location — check your current contract or pay stub for the exact figure.
