UPS Follow My Delivery: Live Map, How to Use & Not Working

UPS Follow My Delivery lets you watch your package move toward you on a live map on the day it’s out for delivery — so you know roughly when to expect the driver. It’s one of the most popular features for UPS My Choice members. Here’s what it is, how to use it, what the live map shows, and what to do when Follow My Delivery isn’t working.

This is an independent guide. Sign up and track on the official ups.com — we are not affiliated with United Parcel Service.

What is UPS Follow My Delivery?

Follow My Delivery is a near-real-time map that shows your package’s destination and the delivery vehicle’s current location while it’s out for delivery. The map refreshes automatically every few minutes, so you can see the truck getting closer. It’s available to customers enrolled in free UPS My Choice, for eligible packages — traditionally premium services such as UPS Next Day Air, UPS Worldwide Express and Worldwide Express Plus.

Important: the package icon on the map does not indicate the order of the driver’s stops or an exact delivery time — it’s a live location, not an ETA countdown.

How to use UPS Follow My Delivery

  • Make sure you’re signed up for UPS My Choice (it’s free for residential addresses).
  • On the delivery day, once your shipment is loaded onto the truck, you’ll get an email with a yellow “Follow My Delivery” button.
  • Click the button — a map of your local area opens, showing your address and the vehicle’s live position.
  • The map updates roughly every 2–3 minutes until the package is delivered.

Where is the Follow My Delivery link?

The link arrives by email on the morning of delivery — check your inbox and click the yellow “Follow My Delivery” button. The map only appears once the driver actually begins the delivery route, and it disappears after the package is delivered or the driver’s day ends. If a re-delivery is attempted, you’ll get a fresh email and map the next morning.

UPS Follow My Delivery not working? Here’s why

If you don’t see the live map, it’s usually one of these reasons:

  • It’s not the delivery day yet — the map only goes live once the package is out for delivery.
  • The driver hasn’t started the route — the map appears only after the vehicle is en route; check again a little later.
  • The package or area isn’t eligible — not every service, package or location supports the live map.
  • You’re not enrolled in UPS My Choice, or it’s a commercial address (the feature is geared to residential).
  • Already delivered — the map closes after delivery or at the end of the driver’s day.
  • Email/link issues — check spam, and make sure you’re opening the latest email from UPS.

When the map isn’t available, you can still see status updates and the delivery window with standard tracking — see our UPS tracking guide. Wondering about weekends? Check whether UPS delivers on Saturday.
